Be Still: Trusting God in Life's Storms

Scripture Focus: Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God."

During life’s storms, it can often feel impossible to find peace. The noise, the chaos, the constant demands of our daily lives, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and lost. But God offers us a way to find peace, not in the absence of storms, but in the presence of His stillness.

Psalm 46:10 reminds us, "Be still, and know that I am God." This verse is a call to pause, to stop our frantic striving, and to rest in the knowledge that God is sovereign, that He is in control, and that He offers us peace that transcends understanding.

The Importance of Stillness and Peace in God
Life can sometimes feel like a whirlwind, relationships, work, health concerns, finances, there are so many areas that demand our attention. In these moments, we may find ourselves spinning, trying to keep everything together. But God calls us into a quiet place, away from the noise and distractions, where we can hear His voice clearly.

Peace doesn’t mean the absence of trouble. Peace is a state of rest, even in the midst of challenges. It's the confidence that God is with us, guiding us through the storm. In stillness, we allow God to calm our hearts and minds, renewing our strength.

Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." Our refuge isn’t found in the absence of storms but in the presence of the One who is with us through them. When we pause and find stillness in God, we find the peace we’ve been longing for.
